The Dragon Hunter and the Mage by V.R. Cardoso

Inspiration

One thing I found particularly interesting about The Dragon Hunter and the Mage was the culture and dangers faced by the dragon hunters. I decided to try out a dragon inspired cocktail in that combines smoke and heat in the form of whisky and red pepper jelly. The drink starts out smoky with a nice burn on the finish, definitely one for spice fans. 🙂

Recipe

You will need:

  • Ice
  • Tumbler
  • Spoon
  • 1 oz Smoky Whisky (I used Black Grouse)
  • 2 oz Rossi Vermouth
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Jelly
  • 2 Dashes Hot Sauce
  • Orange Wedge
  • 1 Pinch Kosher Salt

Fill tumbler with ice. Measure whisky and vermouth into the glass, and add red pepper jelly and hot sauce. Stir thoroughly. Take your orange wedge and squeeze into the glass, then add as garnish. Take pinch of kosher salt and sprinkle over the surface. Enjoy!
