The Pairing

The Ninth Rain by Jen Williams

The Reasoning

Stonefoot is an alcoholic drink traditional to the plains people, made with fermented mare’s milk. It put me in mind of the tang of plain yogurt, and I decided that a version of a mango lassi incorporating rum and triple sec would be a delicious direction to go in for this fictional beverage. 🙂

The Recipe

(Serves 2)

You will need:

  • Blender
  • 4 Ice Cubes
  • 1 cup Plain Yogurt
  • 4 oz milk
  • 1 Ripe Mango, diced
  • 4 Teaspoons Honey
  • 4 oz Spiced Rum (Non-Alcoholic Substitute: Omit this ingredient)
  • 2 oz Triple Sec (Non-Alcoholic Substitute:  2 oz Orange Juice)
  • 1 Pinch ground Cardamom (per drink)

Add Ice, Mango, Yogurt, Milk, Honey, Rum, Triple Sec (or substitute) and Ice Cubes to blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and sprinkle a pinch of cardamom on top.

Enjoy! Now get back on your bat and fuck off.
