The Mana Potion

The Pairing

Sufficiently Advanced Magic, by Andrew Rowe

The Reasoning

The mechanics of Rowe’s magic system works very much like the videogames I found myself playing in the 90s, and in such a world, there are staple items that are always needed. I decided to pay homage to both Sufficiently Advanced Magic and the worlds I have long inhabited online with my own take on the traditional blue mana potion. It’s one of my simpler cocktails, but it has enough fizz and pep to liven up even the dourest of sorcerers. 🙂

The Recipe

You will need:

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1.5 oz Blue Raspberry Syrup
  • Cream Soda or Lemon & Lime Seltzer water, depending on your sweet tooth!

Add 5-6 ice cubes to the cocktail shaker and fill a glass tumbler with ice.

Pour vodka and raspberry syrup into cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.

Strain into glass. Top up with cream soda if you like your cocktails sweet, or lemon/lime seltzer water if you prefer.

Enjoy!

I’m Wol, resident bartender for the Inn, and maker of fantasy themed cocktails. I’m a big advocate for quality self-published novels. In addition to reading, I enjoy videogames, cooking, gardening, geeky cross-stitch, and, more recently, D&D. Outside of fantasy I read a lot of classics and I have a fondness for noir. My favorite fantasy authors include: Robin Hobb, Philip Pullman, Liam Perrin, Terry Pratchett, Anna Smith Spark, K.S. Villoso, Josiah Bancroft and Quenby Olson.
