The Reasoning
The Agan is the source of magic in Villoso’s world. People fight and die for it, people are willing to murder innocent children for it – it’s all a bit grim! Given that this is the case, I figured this needed to be a cocktail that is (pardon my Kagtar) strong as shit. It also needed some flavors that I think would work in this world, and I think we have hit a nice balance of tart and sweet. Much like Sapphire herself!
The Cocktail
You will need:
- Channel/paring knife
- Cocktail Shaker
- Ice cubes
- Martini glass
- 2 oz coconut rum
- 2 oz tequila
- 1 lime
- superfine/baker’s sugar
Use the channel/paring knife to cut a long twist of peel from the lime. Set to one side.
Cut a wedge from the lime and use it to coat the rim of the martini glass. Put sugar in a small bowl and use it to rim the glass – tap a couple of times to shake off any excess sugar.
Add 5-6 ice cubes to the cocktail shaker. Add rum, tequila and 1 oz of juice from the lime. Shake vigorously and strain into the rimmed martini glass. Garnish with lime twist.
