The Cocktail
You will need:
- Shot glass
- Spoon
- Kahlua
- Irish Cream
- Cherry Brandy
There’s a knack to pouring a layered cocktail, so don’t get too annoyed if you don’t get it right the first time or two (or three). The weight of the liquor is a factor, so we have to pour the heaviest layer first. In this instance, that’s the Kahlua. Pour a small layer into the bottom of the shot glass.
Here’s where it gets tricky. Take your spoon and turn it upside down so that the bowl is facing upwards. Gently place it inside the glass so that the tip is touching the side, just above the Kahlua. Now, very slowly pour the Irish Cream onto the bowl of the spoon to create your second layer. If they mix together, you went too fast!
Trickier still is our third layer, the cherry brandy. Wipe off your spoon and repeat the same procedure until you have three roughly even layers. Make everyone admire the shit out of it, no matter how uninterested they may be. Or give up and go find yourself a beer-me-go-round. Both are good options.
