Inspiration

During the events of Trench, one of the characters accidentally brings faeries to the front lines. Far from being the beautiful creatures of folklore, the fairies quickly turn feral and establish themselves as a huge pain in the ass. That said, I found myself feeling oddly fond of them and decided that since they served as a worthy distraction from the humdrum life in the trenches, they deserved their own drink. As did Miller, as it turns out. 🙂

Recipe

You will need:

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Martini Glass
  • Ice
  • 1 Egg White (if you’re squeamish about this, use pasteurized egg white or substitute 2 tbsp heavy cream)
  • 1 oz Black Raspberry Liqueur
  • 2 oz Brandy
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 Italian Cherry, plus 1 tsp Syrup

Put cherry in the bottom of the martini glass. Fill cocktail shaker with ice, then add all remaining ingredients. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds, then strain into the glass.

Enjoy!

I’m Wol, resident bartender for the Inn, and maker of fantasy themed cocktails. I’m a big advocate for quality self-published novels. In addition to reading, I enjoy videogames, cooking, gardening, geeky cross-stitch, and, more recently, D&D. Outside of fantasy I read a lot of classics and I have a fondness for noir. My favorite fantasy authors include: Robin Hobb, Philip Pullman, Liam Perrin, Terry Pratchett, Anna Smith Spark, K.S. Villoso, Josiah Bancroft and Quenby Olson.
