A Harvest of Hearts by Andrea Eames

Covert art for A Harvest of Hearts by Andrea Eames. Shows a red background with silhouettes of a realistic heart and a cat, with stars inside the shapes.

Umm, okay… so A Harvest of Hearts was such a fun, whimsical, FABULOUS read! I will definitely be picking up Andrea Eames’s books in the future. It reminded me of a less gritty Kell Woods’s novel, though don’t get me wrong, there were some grittier parts to this novel. I’m hoping someone does a special edition of this one so I can snag it.

This standalone novel follows Foss, a ‘plain’ butcher’s daughter just trying to make it through her everyday life. Her village is visited by the sorceresses that take (more or less willingly) people’s hearts for their magics. When the first sorcerer comes through, he accidently and unknowingly takes a part of Foss’s heart. Foss follows him back to the city, where the real adventure begins.
