The Pairing
The Adventure of the Incognita Countess, by Cynthia Ward
The Reasoning
A common occurrence during The Adventure of the Incognita Countess was for Lucy and the alluring Countess Karstein to meet up for champagne cocktails. Here I present a Titanic-themed champagne cocktail, featuring its very own floating iceberg.
The Cocktail
You will need:
- Channeling/Paring knife
- Jam jar or Bottle
- 1 lemon
- Rosemary
- Vodka
- Dry champagne
- Lemon sorbet
We’ll need to start by making our own rosemary/lemon infused vodka. Each cocktail requires 1 oz of vodka, so determine how many you intend to make and measure your vodka accordingly into a jam jar. Add a few sprigs of rosemary and slices of lemon, shake well and leave to infuse overnight or for up to 4 days. Make sure after 4 days to remove the lemon/rosemary as it can become bitter.
When your vodka is ready, measure 1 oz into the bottom of a glass. Top the glass up with champagne, leaving enough room at the rim to add a large scoop of lemon sorbet. Use a spoon to gently drop the sorbet into the center of the glass so that it floats in the middle, and add a sprig of rosemary and a lemon twist for garnish if desired.
Enjoy, and don’t let the Countess bite. Or do, if that’s what you’re into. 😉
