Holy Sister by Mark Lawrence

Inspiration

Sister Apple is one of the more devious characters at Sweet Mercy, and yet there is a sweetness and fire to her that I enjoy a great deal. Her sharp wit and loving relationship with Sister Kettle made her a firm favorite for me.

Here’s to The Poisoner!

Recipe

You will need:

  • Blender
  • 2 small Saucers
  • Tall Glass
  • 1 Cup Ice
  • 1 tbsp Raw/Turbinado Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • Caramel Sauce
  • 1 oz Cinnamon Whiskey
  • 1.5 oz Brandy
  • 5 oz Apple Juice
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg

In one saucer, place a coin sized dot of caramel sauce. Take your glass and run the rim through the sauce to coat it evenly. In the other saucer, put your raw sugar and cinnamon and stir. Rim the glass with the sugar/cinnamon mixture and set aside.

Put your ice into the blender, followed by Cinnamon Whiskey, Brandy, 1 oz of Caramel Sauce, and Apple Juice. Pulse to break up the ice cubes and then blend until smooth. Pour into your prepared glass. Top the foam with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Enjoy! And keep your guard up. You never know…

In addition to reading, I enjoy videogames, cooking, gardening, geeky cross-stitch, and, more recently, D&D. Outside of fantasy I read a lot of classics and I have a fondness for noir. My favorite fantasy authors include: Robin Hobb, Philip Pullman, Liam Perrin, Terry Pratchett, Anna Smith Spark, K.S. Villoso, Josiah Bancroft and Quenby Olson.
