Faycalibur: A Less Valued Knights Novel by Liam Perrin
Inspiration
Philip took a chocolate ball and smiled at the servant girl. He grabbed two more before she could turn away. He popped one in his mouth.
“And who is this who eats before the Queen?”
Thomas kicked the leg of Philip’s chair. Philip bit down. His eyes watered and he whimpered, startled.
“This is Sir Philip the Disadvantaged of the Table of Less Valued Knights,” said Thomas.
Philip blinked. As he chewed his expression slid from shock to delight to dismay. “It’s grog,” he said. “They’ve got grog in them.”
“Grog?” said Morgan. “Grog?!” Her eyes flashed and her jaw muscle flexed. She seemed to peer directly into Philip’s soul.
“Grog is for those who frequent bilges. This is Gorean rum and midnight chocolate. Why are you here?”
Recipe
You will need:
- Blender
- Tall Glass
- Drinking Straw
- Ice Cream of your choice (I chose Kroger’s Black Raspberry Dark Chocolate)
- Splash of Milk or Half & Half
- 3 oz Black Spiced Rum (Non-Alcoholic Version: Omit this ingredient)
- Dark Chocolate Syrup
- Whipped Cream (fresh or canned works)
- Cocktail Cherry
Take your glass and drizzle the inside with chocolate syrup. Set aside.
Add two large scoops of ice cream, a splash of milk, rum and a generous squeeze of chocolate syrup to the blender. Blend until well mixed, and pour into your prepared glass. Top with whipped cream, then drizzle a little more chocolate syrup on top. Add your cherry and a drinking straw, and enjoy!
Just make sure you can handle your grog better than Philip. 😉
Oh wow this sounds good. I’ve recently started trying out rum drinks and am on the lookout for good recipes.
